The villages on the outskirts of Sheffield are renowned for their olde worlde charm. That includes plenty of period homes with classic features. But as with any style, consistency is key. It’s important to maintain that heritage across the home’s features.

That was exactly the case with our clients’ home in Spinkhill. The unique farm-conversion needed antique flooring to complement its distinctive aesthetic. Fortunately, our specialist team was on hand to supply and fit charming tumbled oak parquet flooring to their entire ground floor.

Project Challenges

Our work with Mr & Mrs Hilliman began in November 2019, when they contacted us about wooden floor for the ground floor of their Spinkhill home. They were considering reclaimed wooden flooring as they wanted the new floors to match the age of their property.

Unfortunately, that comes with its own challenges – namely, getting the adequate supply of reclaimed wood and keeping a consistent appearance throughout the home. On top of that, they wanted the floors to be fitted while they were away on holiday. Not a problem.

Our Solution

To sidestep the problems of reclaimed wood flooring, we offered a beautiful tumbled oak product that perfectly complemented the age of their property. The stunning floor was hard wearing and suitable for a kitchen, which was necessary as they wanted it for the entire ground floor of their home.

Using a tumbled oak parquet flooring meant they could have a consistent floor throughout the house – and of course we duly obliged when it came to installation while they were away on holiday.
